To get the X10 connector to perform a scheduled event, you need to send a xAP control message to the connector containing details of the action you wish to perform.

The simplest way of sending such a message is to use the xAP Send tool, which sends a given message from a flat file, and invoke xAP Send using the event scheduler (windows) or crontab (linux).

A more complex way of sending such a message is to use the xAP Schedule application, which will send a specific message at a pre-programmed time. The xAP Schedule application does have to be running at the time though (ie. it needs to be installed on a computer which is switched on 24hrs a day). For more information see xAP Schedule.

xAP Floorplan also contains an easy to use and very powerful timer system.
